My name is Sydney Oliver Lancaster and I am an Interior Design graduate from the University of Florida. I have wanted to work in interior design since I was young, and have spent most of my life pursuing the education and experience required to confidently pursue design as a lifelong career. I am known by my peers to be overwhelmingly passionate about bettering the world in thoughtful and unique ways—and in my eyes, design is the perfect medium for me to do so.

Since I was young, I have been known to have a boundless imagination. I enjoy making craft projects out of scrap items, the most notable of which was a life-size, interactive car made entirely out of construction paper when I was nine.
Those who know me are well aware of my big heart. I take on the feelings of others as if they are my own, and have an innate ability to meaningfully connect with and understand others on an emotional level. I have learned to use this strength in my design, as most of my projects are driven by feeling and a desire to make as many people feel accounted for as possible.
Along with empathy, I have the ability to thoroughly communicate my thoughts and ideas across several different mediums. One of my strongest forms of communication is writing; I have considered being an author a few times, but find myself much more driven to pursue design.
I have always been described as a fast learner. It takes me very little time to become proficient at new skills, whether it be a new software program or a hobby. This strength makes my workflow much more efficient, as I find most programs and the like to be very intuitive.
One of my greatest strengths is my open mind and willingness to accept and embrace new ideas. I am able to flow with change rather than fight against it, and oftentimes find myself itching to push change forward.
